[How To] Get 10 free Microsoft Voices on Windows 10

This tutorial to allows user to use existing Microsoft OneCore voices to be used with Microsoft SAPI/LINKS.


  1. Close LINKS.
  2. Press windows key.
  3. Type "language settings"
  4. Open "Region & language settings"
  5. Click "Add a language"
  6. Select "English"
  7. Select a language from the list below.
    ► Show Spoiler
  8. Select the language, then select "Options" and click "Install" under Speech section.
  9. To get all English voices, repeat steps 5 - 8 until all languages from the list are installed.
  10. To show the voices in LINKS, run the attached .reg file.
  11. Start LINKS.

Notes:
If new voice seems to speak a bit slow, then close LINKS, press Win + R and type or copy/paste "%AppData%\Roaming\LINKS\Customization\XML\" and press enter then delete "VoiceConfig.xml". Then press Win+R and type or copy/paste "%windir%\SysWow64\speech\speechux\sapi.cpl" and press enter, then select the voice that is slow, and move the speed slider 4 points to the right, click apply then click OK.

Adding new voices worked, thanks!
However all of them are really slow and deleting the file and moving the slider didn't work :/ Do you have any idea how else I could try to speed them up?
